History

Bob’s Army Store was purchased by Ronnie & Sandy Pfohl in 1976, from Kenny & Verna Haugstad, who owned the store for 20 years prior selling men's clothing.

They changed the store name to Bob’s Outdoor.

Ronnie was born and raised in Livingston and Sandy was raised on a ranch in Paradise Valley.

After traveling to the Billings clothing market for several years, Sandy saw the colorful women's Woolrich flannel shirts and added women's clothing lines to the store's offering.

This changed the entire structure of the store. The women’s clothing brands became an integral part of Bob’s Outdoor, while retaining the men's traditional clothing lines.

2nd Generation Family Owned

Ronnie and Sandy's daughter, Shelly Chapel purchased the store from her Mom in 1996, making it Montana 2nd generation owned. We provide exceptional service to every customer.

Building Renovations

In 2017, the exterior of the building was renovated.

The “Bob’s Outdoor” sign was then repainted by hand by ourselves in the limestone basement.

The historic and iconic Bob's Outdoor sign.
